Nueces County, Texas, ARES
Our Purpose
The purpose of this ARES group, which is local to Nueces County is more social in nature than many other ARES groups. Many ARES groups have many members, and have strict requirements for participation and training. We feel that the most important thing we can do is just meet and discuss ham topics.
Although this is a lot more low key than other ARES groups, we feel the camaraderie that we develop will help each of us to become better communicators and ultimately make us better prepared to help the public in a real emergency.
We will have training sessions. In fact, a weekly VHF training net is ideal for exchanging ideas and increasing our proficiency. However, all training will be enjoyable.
